Which Serenity character are you?
created with QuizFarm.com
You scored as The OperativeYou are dedicated to your job and very good at what you do. You’ve done some very bad things, but they had to be done. You don’t expect to go to heaven, but that is a sacrifice you’ve made for a better future for all.
The [...]
A Confession…
Wednesday, November 28th, 2007I have a confession to make…I was addicted to Hell’s Kitchen, and I can’t stop watching Kitchen Nightmares…I’m obsessed with Gordon Ramsay, and now I’m starting to have sexual fantasies about him…Seriously…He is honest and outspoken, and I think it’s kind of telling that it makes him a bit of a Sadist…I guess most people really [...]
Restaurant Review: Wildfire Pizza
Wednesday, November 28th, 2007***Originally posted at PortlandFood.org***
Had lunch here today for the second time. I will preface this review by saying that I have yet to eat at Apizza, mostly because their hours (and the time needed to get in and enjoy a meal there) just haven’t been convenient for me. So I don’t have the same barometer [...]
Restaurant Review: Andina
Tuesday, November 27th, 2007***Originally posted at PortlandFood.org***
Wow. Went to Andina for lunch today and thoroughly enjoyed it. I got a glass of Carmenere, H had iced tea, and we split the following appetizers:
TORTILLA DE PATATA Y ALIOLI DE AJI AMARILLO Spanish-style potato fritatta with aji Amarillo aioli
PIMIENTO PIQUILLO RELLENO piquillo peppers stuffed with cheese, quinoa and Serrano ham
QUESOS [...]
Restaurant Review: The Heathman (brunch)
Monday, November 26th, 2007***Originally posted at PortlandFood.org***
Had brunch at the Heathman on Saturday morning and was not impressed. It’s not that the food is inedible, just really average. They make it sound nice on the menu, but you can get better for cheaper at lots of other places.
I ordered the ham, caramelized onion, and swiss omelet. H [...]
Owwww
Saturday, November 24th, 2007So somehow I managed to throw my back out and have been in excruciating pain off and on for four days…Picture me cooking enough food for a cruise ship in between bouts of gripping the counter and cursing like a truck driver…I could barely lift the damn turkey, but it was worth it to get [...]
Restaurant Review: Apizza Scholls
Tuesday, November 20th, 2007***Originally posted at PortlandFood.org***
So it’s 3pm yesterday, and we’re sitting in my car staring at Apizza Scholls. We’ve been running errands and putting off lunch for a couple hours already…
“They’re supposed to be the best…But…I mean…We just had pizza yesterday…And they don’t open for two hours…And we’ll probably have to stand in line…” (sideways look [...]
How It Goes
Monday, November 19th, 2007I had a fantastic rehearsal this morning…God, I love this play and this character! Plus, the two guys I share scenes with are both fun to work with, and the director is wonderfully eccentric…It’s so invigorating to be rehearsing again…And this is a much more physical role than I realized- there’s an intricate, stylized fight [...]
Restaurant Review: Kenny and Zuke’s
Sunday, November 18th, 2007***Originally posted at PortlandFood.org***
First off, I just have to say Nick and Ken have serious chutzpah. As if opening a restaurant in a foodie city like Portland wasn’t hard enough, you guys have been great about taking your feedback and using it to improve while not getting all defensive. Can’t be easy with so many [...]
The Big Meal
Saturday, November 17th, 2007It’s time to go shopping for the big meal, and I thought I’d share the Official Bay City Blues Thanksgiving Dinner Menu…
Turkey…I roast a couple of breasts since neither Howard nor I are a big fan of dark meat…Besides, it’s easier and quicker than doing a whole turkey, and then I don’t have to feel [...]
