A couple of years ago, I directed the wonderfully talented and ridiculously adorable Tom Murphy in a one act play at The Producer’s Club in NYC…We also took an acting class and did a scene together, and I always thought he had the potential to be very successful…So pardon me for sounding like a proud mama, but you have to check out this hilarious short he co-wrote and starred in…It is funny as hell and had me in stitches…Way to go, Tommy Boy!
I’ve finally gotten my Facebook and MySpace profiles finished, at least for now, and I have to say I can see how people get sucked in to these kinds of social networking sites…They’re totally addicting if you let them snare you! The best part of them for me is getting back in touch with old pals, including a dear friend from my short-lived time in college…I have been looking for her for YEARS, and I found her in 20 minutes on Facebook…Pretty cool…
I definitely like Facebook better than MySpace, mostly because it’s easy to use and they have tons of anti-spam safeguards…And it just seems a little more about getting in touch with people than trying to sell yourself and pretend you’re famous…More on that later, but maybe not today…By the way, if you are on either website, feel free to friend me…My profiles are pretty tame, but they do mention what I do and link back here, so if discretion is an issue for you I won’t be offended if you don’t add me…
In case you didn’t notice, I finally got around to making a gallery page with some pictures for those of you who requested them…I have two photo shoots coming up in November, so I will post more soon…I like that I can be such a chameleon- it’s fun to play dress-up! Lol!
Our first read-through is Sunday the 21st, and I’m waiting to find out what the rehearsal schedule looks like…I am so excited! It will be nice to just act again…I do like producing (and directing), but in the last few roles I’ve played, I feel my acting suffered a bit because my attention was divided…I am looking forward to being able to concentrate solely on the character and not have to worry about advertising or ticket sales or performance rights or any of that…Oh, and I found out that there are two other PAC alumni in this show, both of whom I adore and who are excellent actors! It’s going to be a treat working with them, even though we don’t have any scenes together…
I think that’s plenty for now…There are a lot of things on my mind these days, but if I don’t cut myself off somewhere I’ll just write forever…I hope wherever you are right now, you feel loved and blessed…And if not, come find me…*smiles*
